Srinagar Airports is connected with Indira Gandhi Airpots, New Delhi by daily direct flights via Jammu operated by Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, Air Shahara, Kingfisher, Spice Jet, Air Deccan and GoAir.
One can hire a taxi from the airport taxi stand at reasonable charges the 14 km journey from airport to the city provides a view of modern Srinagar city full of daytime hustle bustle.

Jammu Tawi Railway Station connects J&K State with rest of the country by a of number of regular and special holiday trains starting from all major cities of India. At the railway station, buses and taxis are available daily from Srinagar, particularly in the morning.
By Road : Jammu to Srinagar
From Jammu, book a seat in the daily bus service of J&K State Road Transport Corporation.
Jammu to Srinagar is 198 km mostly hill road. On reaching Jaijjarkotli, 40 km from Jammu stop for a tea break, Traveling via tourist resorts like Kud and Patnitop , 125 km from Jammu comfortable private hotels and tourist bungalow & huts of JKTDC are available. Generally the next stop for lunch break is Ramban , 153 km Crossing via Banihal village 190 km, you reach Hawahar tunnel at at altitude of 3000 meters, built in 1956 On other side of the tunnel change in the air and charismatic view of the nature is first feeling.
Kashmir Pilgrims at Mata Vaishnodeviji can start off from Katra connected by a 15 km by pass from National Highway 1A. Further down Qazigund is a short stopover for early Passing vehicles. The road then leads to Khanabal crossing, afterwhich comes the straight road with partly lined Poplar trees.
Although Jammu Srinagar road offers full adventure it can be quite tiring at times being a single approach road into the valley which has huge columns of traffic both heavy & light and gets blocked due to landslides during the winter season. Travel sickness is common on this 9 12 hours journey. Proper medicines should be carried for a pleasant journey.
